A Note From Inglath. . .
Last year, I was fortunate enough to become a volunteer for a wonderful program called Bridge of Hope. Now beginning its 10th year, Bridge of Hope brings older Russian orphans to the United States for a one-month stay with a host family, a summer of fun, and the opportunity to find permanent adoptive homes. Since 1997, approximately 90% of the children participating in the program have been adopted.
In July 2005, I worked with a committee of volunteers to bring 11 children to our local area where they stayed with host families. All of these children have either been adopted or are in the process of being adopted. All of us who worked on this wonderful effort were touched in ways we never expected by the sweet, loving children who came to visit and the generous families who welcomed them with open arms.
Bridge of Hope operates in a number of regions across the country. If you would like to know more about it, please visit http://www.bridgeofhope.cc.
